EdVenture serves ESE students (that meet enrollment criteria) from all of Palm Beach County with secondary priority given to students applying under controlled open enrollment. Pursuant to F.S. 1002.31.
Students/Parents must complete an application to ensure enrollment criteria is met.
EdVenture offers rolling enrollment while spots are available. Once student capacity is met, we will move to a waiting list. All applicants who meet enrollment criteria shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a random selection process. The school may give preference in admission to
students or limit the enrollment as provided for in section 1002.33(10), Florida Statutes.

Enrollment Information

Enrollment Criteria 

EdVenture is an ESE Center for students who are ages 14-22 with a full time ESE eligibility and need for intensive educational programming. Priority will be given to students who live in Palm Beach County with secondary priority given to students applying under controlled open enrollment. Pursuant to F .S. 1002.31, EdVenture Charter School, Inc. will allow a parent from any school district in the state of Florida whose child is not subject to a current expulsion or suspension, apply for placement.
Additionally, eligible students must:
  1. Be a 9-12th grade ESE student who requires direct instruction and a small school environment to make progress OR who has deferred their diploma for additional skill acquisition in the areas of remedial core content and/or employment transition services. Ages 14-22.
  2. Have no history of violence or violent weapon offenses and be able to maintain safely on campus. Be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct oneself responsibly in social, private, and/or personal settings without staff assistance.
  3. Exhibit socially responsible behavior with supervision. 
  4. Be motivated to participate in the school wide behavior program which is a token economy system.
  5. Be motivated to participate in employment preparation focused courses in a hands-on working environment and learn the vocational/academic skills necessary for paid employment.
  6. Be 100% independent in the areas of personal hygiene, toileting, and grooming. Student agrees to dress in appropriate school uniform and/or work attire when called for.
  7. Possesses the ability, physically or with adaptive equipment, to safely move from one location to another without staff assistance.
  8. Traverse campus daily without issues or assistance beyond that which is available to all students at EdVenture.
  9. Possess the ability, physically or with adaptive equipment, to feed oneself independently. Presents a means to independently communicate. Student can communicate in a form comprehensible to strangers.
  10. Function independently without one-to-one supervision in all settings, including transportation. Student participates in all scheduled activities on campus daily without issues and has no assistance beyond that which is available to all EdVenture students.
  11. Demonstrate consistent school attendance and punctuality (ideally fewer than 10 unexcused absence/ tardies per semester).
  12. Be independent in self-administering medication(s) as prescribed, as necessary and with documented physician authorization.
  13. Be an Exceptional Education Student who has an IEP and resides within the School District of Palm Beach County boundaries or eligible for out of county enrollment.

​All applications must have attached SIS attendance, discipline screen, IEP, and/or FBA/ BIP with data collection.
